The Krobo tribe in Ghana, West Africa, are world renown glass bead makers. As ancient as beads are in Africa, the Krobo people make the beads out of recycled bottles and glasses, which they manually pound into powder and then placed in high heat to form a mold. The artisans use their time and skills to polish and paint each mold by hand into these gorgeous beads. For this reason, none is identical and any irregularity is uniquely handmade. Adorned by Chiefs and Queens with their entourage for special ceremonies since time memorial, you can't help but notice the reach culture of the motherland.
